Cut no 15, 2019, 20x11cm

The Mourne Mountains are a granite mountain range in County Down. They sit between Belfast and the border to the Republic of Ireland, a view point across the island of Ireland. This mountain range has over time been quarried for the granite which created it; creating empty expanses amongst the lush surrounding mountains.

The pieces within the Cut series explore these spaces; they are the remnants of what is left. They are covered in scars: marks left from the removal of the very material from which they were made.

Numbered editions of 15.
